Meet the Midwives and Doulas at Babypalooza

This year, BirthWell Partners Community Doula Project is anchoring The Natural Parenting Expo at Babypalooza with a special meet the Midwives and Doulas programming. The event will be held on Saturday, August 26 in the BJCC East Ballroom from 10am until 2pm.

Meet the Midwives 11:00 AM

Learn about the role of a midwife on your birth support team. The discussion will cover the midwifery model of care, various aspects of childbirth, and offer a Q&A session with seasoned local midwives. Discover the benefits of midwifery and get your questions answered.

Meet the Doulas 12:00 PM

At this session, learn about the role doulas play in supporting and advocating for birthing individuals. Discover the different services doulas provide from pre-pregnancy to postpartum. Meet doulas from the local community and learn about how they can support you during your childbirth journey.

Workshop: Self Advocacy in the Maternity Care Space 1:00 PM

Hosted in Room A in the East Hall, this free one-hour workshop aims to empower expectant moms with knowledge, skills, and confidence in selecting maternity services and receiving person-centered prenatal, birth, and postpartum care. Rachel Bailey from Birthwell Partners will guide you in learning and practicing self-advocacy tools crucial for the birthing space, where many factors may be outside your direct control. Learn how to ask good questions and share your personal story to make sure you are getting patient-centered care.
