Are you a mom of a preschooler? Are you experiencing isolation and loneliness and wanting connection with other moms? Enter Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS)! MOPS is a national non-profit support group that is about meeting the needs of moms—from the time she conceives until her child starts kindergarten.

MOPS began as a small group of 8 moms in 1973 and has now grown into an international organization with groups meeting in churches and other locations in more than 60 countries around the world. Based in faith, MOPS allows moms to create one-of-a-kind mom communities in their own neighborhoods. Many groups offer childcare, so members can connect with other moms, face to face, while kids are safe and making friends too.

MOPS offers several types of groups to meet the ever-evolving needs of moms:

Traditional MOPS groups: For moms who are expecting or have infants, toddlers, or preschoolers. Groups typically gather twice a month at a church at varying times to suit the group’s needs. A MOPS meeting usually includes practical teaching through speakers, demonstrations, and videos—plus, there’s usually food…food you didn’t make—and honest conversations with other moms who understand the joys and frustrations of motherhood.

MOMSnext groups: For moms of school-age kids. MOMSnext groups are designed for moms with older kids who still seek connection and community. Groups typically meet twice a month at a church, but each group can modify location, schedule, and curriculum to meet the needs of the group.

M Collectives: Short-term small groups. These topic-based discussion groups focus on a single issue and center around meaningful conversations. Gather a few friends and create your own Collective small group. Customize the topic, meeting time and location to fit your needs. Materials are available for download to guide group discussions.

Go to www.mops.org/groupsearch/ to find the MOPS groups in your area. Membership in MOPS costs $31.95 yearly, but some groups have additional fees to cover expenses, such as childcare.
