Target Designs Halloween Costumes for Kids With Special Needs

Here’s one more reason to love Target: The retailer recently unveiled four adaptive Halloween costumes designed for children with special needs, including those who use wheelchairs.

The adaptive princess costume ($20) features a crown and a pink dress, which opens in the back for convenience. Sold separately is a wheelchair cover ($45) that turns the wheelchair into a fancy carriage.

The adaptive pirate costume ($25) features standard pirate gear (a vest, pants, hat, and eye patch). There’s also a sold-separately wheelchair cover ($45) that transforms the chair into a pirate ship.

Also included in the line of adaptive Halloween costumes are a unicorn costume ($25) and a shark costume ($25). These feature removable components (wings, fins, or hoods) for children with sensitivities, as well as a concealed opening in the front for abdominal access. They are also sensory-friendly, with no tags or raised seams.

These costumes are available for preorder now on Target’s site and will ship after August 22.
