Tickled pink. That’s how Carrie Juliano Laney describes her and husband Brett’s feelings upon finding out they were having a baby girl.

“I have always loved the color pink,” Carrie says, “and our wedding featured three shades of pink.” When they learned baby Lena’s gender, the couple knew immediately they wanted her nursery to feature plenty of pretty pink touches. Another source of inspiration for their baby’s nursery was Carrie’s childhood room.

“I loved my room growing up,” Carrie recalls. “It felt like a princess room, and I wanted the same for baby Lena.” The couple incorporated lamps from Carrie’s childhood bedroom as well as several of her beloved baby dolls in Lena’s room décor.

Carrie credits her mother, Marietta Juliano, as the “mastermind behind the beautiful nursery.” Known for her innate sense of style, Marietta found all the fabric, the chandelier, and the beautiful crown perched above the bed.

“My mom has always made everything perfect for us,” Carrie says. “She is beyond talented and when she has a vision, she doesn’t stop till it comes to life. She has always done it for dance costumes, birthday parties and weddings—so she was for sure going to make sure Lena had a perfect princess nursery!”

Marietta also enlisted Linda Flathery, owner of Once Upon a Time, to help bring her vision to life. Linda created the bedding and window treatments, taking the princess theme to the next level. One thing is certain: Baby Lena can’t help but be tickled pink in this bedroom fit for a princess.

Customized Bedding and Window Treatments from Once Upon a Time:

Crib Rail Covers: Pink satin scalloped and ruffled crib rail covers lend elegance. The same leaf-and-crown pattern with Lena’s name was embroidered in the center of the covers. The scalloped edge is trimmed with pink satin cording and a double ruffle of pink satin and pink organdy fabrics. Large pink satin bows secure the covers to the crib while serving as a gorgeous accent.

Crib Skirt: A gathered three-tiered ruffled crib skirt in pink satin dresses up the crib.

Boudoir Pillow: The pillow top features a center panel of pink satin, flanked with 3D pink petal and lace panels and trimmed with narrow pink satin ribbon. The center panel features the signature leaf-and-crown embroidery design and Lena’s name.

Quilt: The quilt boasts a center panel of pink satin, with all four sides bordered with 3D pink petal and lace fabric. The center panel was embroidered with a leaf-and-crown motif topped with Lena’s name. The quilt is backed with pink satin fabric.

Window Treatment: The balloon shade features 3D pink lace over pink satin fabric trimmed with a pink satin corded edge. A double ruffle crafted from pink satin and pink organdy fabrics at the bottom accent the balloon shade. Pink satin floor-to-ceiling tailored drapery panels are gathered on a rod.

Roman Shade: 3D pink lace over pink satin fabric is trimmed with pink satin corded edge and a double ruffle with pink satin and pink organdy overlay at the bottom of the shade.

Drapery panels for coronet: Side drapery panels for the coronet feature 3D lace over the pink satin fabric. A double ruffle of pink satin and pink organdy fabrics trail down the sides, and beaded crown finials pull back the drapery.
