Netflix and Chill’d is a Game Changer

If you need a treat to go with your quarantine binge watching we got an ice cream suggestion for you! Ben & Jerry’s new Netflix and Chill’d flavor is so much more than a hilarious name. The creamy deliciousness features fudge brownie chunks, peanut butter, and pretzel swirls. OMG. (And if you’re not into dairy, never fear: The company plans to unveil a vegan version made with almond milk any day now.)

So here’s the million-dollar question: Why is it called Netflix and Chill’d? Here’s what the company says on its website: “There’s something for everyone to watch on Netflix & flavors for everyone to enjoy from Ben & Jerry’s, so we’ve teamed up to bring you a chillaxing new creation that’s certain to satisfy any sweet or salty snack craving.”

The company has long been known for its hilarious naming practices (Chubby Hubby! Cherry Garcia! Chunky Monkey!), but this new one just might be the funniest yet.

Many moms love ice cream (it’s cold, it’s sweet, and it’s high in calcium!), and Ben & Jerry’s knows it. Moms have incorporated Ben & Jerry’s in everything from their birth announcements to their gender reveals.

And the company has written about moms on their blog more than once, including such gems as “If Your Mom Were a Ben & Jerry’s Flavor, What Flavor Would She Be?”

On another occasion, the company founder jokingly wrote on a Reddit thread that the ice cream churns out super babies.

In the company’s FAQ section, they also address the commonly asked question: Can pregnant women eat Ben & Jerry’s? (Wait … that was ever in question?!)

“Pregnant women craving ice cream can still have their Ben & Jerry’s! All of the milk, cream, as well as the eggs used in our products are pasteurized during the production process. Also, add-ins such as raw cookie dough or brownie batter found in our product are made with pasteurized eggs,” the company wrote. “Expecting mothers are also often concerned with alcohol or caffeine content of some of our flavors. Rest assured the trace amount of liqueur or caffeine used in our flavorings is perfectly safe for you to consume.”
