Spring break isn’t just for college students. Your whole family can enjoy the adventure of a lifetime if you plan ahead and hit destinations your kids will love. From California to New York, here are four of our
favorite toddler-friendly (and parent-approved!) adventure spots.

Spring Break Family Vacation

San Diego Zoo
San Diego, California

The San Diego Zoo is one of the most famous zoos in the world—and for good reason! The whole family will love exploring the 100-acre attraction to see more than 3,700 rare and endangered animals. Be sure to check out the Africa Rocks exhibit, featuring leopards, baboons, lemurs, and much more. Don’t miss the Northern Frontier (where you can see polar bears and arctic foxes) and the Outback (where you can ooh and aah over koalas).

Dinosaur Valley State Park
Glen Rose, Texas

Got a dinosaur fan in the family? Dinosaur Valley State Park is a don’t-miss experience! Along with the typical state-park fun (camping, picnicking, hiking, and fishing), you can actually hunt for massive dinosaur footprints in the riverbed! If you want to add horse riding to your adventure, check out Eagle Eye Ranch Carriage Company, which offers everything from horse-drawn wagon rides to trail rides for kids aged 3 to 14.

Sesame Place
Langhorne, Pennsylvania

Sesame place

Who doesn’t love Sesame Street? At Sesame Place, your kids can rub elbows with everyone from Big Bird to Abby Cadabby. The water attractions (like Big Bird’s Rambling River and Bert & Ernie’s Slip and Slide) are a blast. Then you can dry off and enjoy all sorts of rides on dry land: a roller coaster, spinning swings,
and flying cookie jar. Be sure to take in a live show, too!

The Strong National Museum of Play
Rochester, New York

Imagination Destination Rocket spring break

A whole museum devoted to play? Yes please! The Strong National Museum of Play bills itself as “the ultimate play destination” and that’s pretty accurate. There are exhibits devoted to everyone from the Berenstain Bears to today’s biggest comic book heroes. There’s also a carousel and train, a variety of aquariums, and an arcade featuring dozens of historic video games.
