Paralympic Athlete Madison de Rozario to Get Her Own Barbie Doll

Talk about life goals. Can you even imagine what it must feel like to have Mattel create a Barbie version of you?

One talented athlete is about to live out our childhood dreams. Australian Paralympic athlete Madison de Rozario is officially Barbie’s 2020 “Shero” doll.

The medal winner told Australian Women’s Health that knowing she will have her own Barbie is “surreal.”

“I think younger me would have never believed it. That I, personally, would be a doll,” she told the magazine. “But that someone that looks like me, would be so visible. So, honestly, it really is an amazing, amazing experience. The whole thing.”

This Barbie is going to look like de Rozario down to the details: hair in a topknot, palm guards on her hand, and of course a wheelchair designed for racing.

The 26-year-old is as modest as she is awesome.

Still trying to wrap her head around her fame, she admitted she has taken time to think of herself as a role model.

“I think it’s something that took me a little while to come to terms with,” she told Australian Women’s Health. “I think if you are representing an under-represented community, you need to do a really, dang good job of it. And that’s a big responsibility.”

Barbie has really taken diversity up a notch, offering dolls with different skin tones, hair colors, and eye colors, as well as dolls with medical conditions and disabilities.

We can’t wait to pick up a Madison de Rozario doll!
