A new concept for OBGYN, women’s health, and Midwifery care in Mobile, Alabama

At The Women’s Village of Mobile, we take a comprehensive approach to women’s health. We provide a wide range of services, including ob/gyn and midwifery care. We treat our patients according to their needs and lifestyle. Our approach is to explore the health issues a woman is experiencing rather than just prescribing medication to alleviate symptoms of an underlying problem. We believe that women’s medicine should be comprehensive and compassionate, which is why we value getting to know our patients so we can provide the best care possible.

At The Women’s Village of Mobile, we believe that it really does take a village. We are fortunate to have a team that administers, personalized care to women in the Mobile area. Dr. Hope Mitchell McLean is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is dedicated to providing responsive and detailed medical care. She is very grateful to have Johnita Jones as her nurse practitioner to help with primary care needs and Kimberly Pope who is a Certified Nurse Midwife striving to improve prenatal care. We focus on listening to your needs and concerns thereby creating a safe, welcoming environment. We are passionate about the power of healing and deliver each patient interaction with kindness and intentionality.

Certified Nurse Midwife Services

If you have considered different childbirth options, you have likely searched for midwives in our area. At The Women’s Village of Mobile, our midwife has over 25-years’ experience as a labor and delivery nurse and is now excited to serve our community as a Certified Nurse Midwife.

What is a Midwife?

Midwives are healthcare providers who deal with pregnancy, childbirth, newborn care and postpartum health. Some midwives provide routine reproductive care like pelvic exams, Pap tests, or counseling on birth control. Midwives tend to be more holistic and supportive of natural approaches to pregnancy and birth. People often choose a midwife when they know they want a non-medicated birth or support for a medicated birth. Midwives often work with ob/gyns in a hospital to ensure you have access to any care you need. A midwife is recommended when your pregnancy is low-risk or if you have only mild complications. Pregnancy and labor are very personal experiences. You have a choice about the kind of care you would prefer. The Women’s Village of Mobile is proud to offer midwifery as a healthcare option.
