The Child Studies Group is a nonprofit research group in the Department of Psychology & Human Development at Vanderbilt University. We are composed of over a dozen faculty and numerous undergraduate, professional, and graduate students. We are particularly interested in children’s growth in the context of the families, schools, neighborhoods and cultures in which they live.

Our goal is to include Nashville-area children and families from a wide variety of backgrounds in our play-based studies. By participating, families play an important role in helping us to better understand how children think, learn, and grow. As we gain greater understanding and make new discoveries, we are committed to sharing them back with the community.
