The Alabama Department of Health strives to promote, protect, and improve the health of the public. They offer a variety of programs that provide some of the most requested and crucial services to the community. Some of these programs include:

Vital Records – Files, stores, and issues certified copies of birth, death, marriage and divorce certificates.

ALL Kids – A low-cost, comprehensive healthcare coverage program for children under age 19.

Diseases & Outbreaks – Prevention and control of designated communicable diseases and illness.

ALPHTN – Utilizes distance learning technologies to reach public & allied health employees throughout the state and U.S.

Women, Infants & Children (WIC) – A supplemental nutrition program for women, infants, and children under the age of five.

Food Safety – Inspection and regulation of food establishments and other facilities.
