In this class, you will learn how to propagate your favorite plants including perennials like salvia, stonecrop, and honeysuckle; annuals such as marigolds, tomatoes, and cucumbers; and herbs like rosemary, basil, and lavender! You will learn how to take different types of cuttings, learn the science and care behind successfully rooting your cuttings, and how to properly sow and care for seedlings. After the class, take home all of your propagated plants and show off your gardening prowess.

About the instructor:
Mason Schoon is the Greenhouse Propagator at
the Huntsville Botanical Garden. He graduated from the University of
Alabama in Huntsville in May of 2021 with a BS in Biological Sciences and a
concentration in Ecology. After moving to the Huntsville area in 2012, he became
fascinated with the diverse local flora and now grows a wide variety of the
Garden’s plant material via germination and various propagation methods.
