On Saturday, September 30, you’re invited to join the Nashville Farmers’ Market for their FREE 2nd annual Fall Ball, Y’all festival! The season’s autumn harvest party, sponsored by local produce vendor S.E. Daugherty & Sons Farm, will include live bluegrass music from Off the Wagon, a pumpkin patch and photo op, fall-themed crafts, on site tractors from Parman Tractor, a pie baking contest, a kids’ zone, fall produce, fall vendor specials, Spitfire’s photo booth and more. The event is free, and parking is also free!

Pie competition

Bring your best pie for a chance to win first, second or third place in our annual fall pie bakeoff! There are three categories: apple pie, pumpkin pie, or other. All entries must be homemade and must include the recipe and contact information with it or it will not be accepted.

Competition rules


First, submit your entry at
nashvillefarmersmarket.org no later than Thursday, September 28 at midnight. Late entries will not be accepted.

A written or typed recipe must be submitted with each entry, along with your name and phone number. This information will not be shared with the judges. Place this information in a ziplock bag and bring it along with your entry.

Bring your pie to our commissary kitchen between 11:15 and 11:45 a.m. The commissary kitchen is located between the outdoor farm sheds and indoor market house. Late entries will not be accepted. Participants may enter more than one pie entry.

Please do not bring add-ons to your recipes, such as whipped cream, ice cream, etc.

Entries will be judged on appearance, texture and flavor.

Participants must be present to win. Prizes will be awarded for first, second or third place and winners will be announced on Saturday, September 30!

Winners will receive two tickets to the Nashville Sounds!
