Babylist is the registry that broke the rule that you had to pick one store. It's a universal registry — you can add items from any website to a single list. Here's how it works in 2026 and how to get every perk.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Babypalooza earns a small bounty when you start your Babylist registry through our link. It costs you nothing extra and helps us keep our baby expos free for parents.
Babylist is a different kind of baby registry. Instead of locking you into one retailer, it lets you add products from any website — Amazon, Walmart, Target, Etsy, IKEA, a boutique stroller company, even a small Shopify shop — to a single registry. Your friends and family shop one link, but each item ships from the retailer it lives at.
Most moms open more than one registry — your friends and family shop at different stores, so opening at two or three retailers means more gift options for them and more gifts for you. Babylist is one of the strongest to add because it solves the "which store do I pick?" problem.

1.How to Create Your Babylist Registry
Go to babylist.com and click Start Your Registry. You'll create a free account and enter your name, due date (or your baby's birth date if she's already here), and email.
Babylist gives you a curated starter list based on your due date, but you can clear it and build from scratch. To add items from other websites, install the Add to Babylist browser extension that lets you save products from any site with one click. You can also use the Babylist app to scan barcodes in stores.

The Hello Baby Box is Babylist's free welcome box, valued at $100. Previous boxes have included bibs, hats, diapers, wipes, bottles, pacifiers, and money-saving coupons.
To qualify in 2026, you'll need to:
- Have a due date less than 9 months away, or a baby born less than 4 weeks ago.
- Have a valid U.S. shipping address (no APO/FPO/DPO addresses or U.S. territories).
- Update your profile with your name, arrival date, and shipping address.
- Add at least 3 items from other stores to your registry.
- Complete at least 40% of your registry checklist.
- Have a minimum $30 purchase from the Babylist Shop (you or a friend/family member can make this).
- Pay $8.95 + tax for shipping.
Limit one Hello Baby Box per household and one per registry.
3.Universal Registry — Add From Anywhere
This is Babylist's signature feature. You can add products from any website — not just retailers Babylist partners with. Saw a stroller on a boutique site? A carrier on Etsy? A specific brand of muslin swaddle on a small Shopify shop? Add it all to one registry.
Gift-givers click through to the original retailer to buy, and the item is marked as purchased on your Babylist registry. It's the closest thing to a true one-stop registry that exists.
4.Cash Funds and Non-Product Gifts
Babylist treats gifts as more than just products. You can register for:
- Cash funds — college savings, childcare, date nights, postpartum support, a big-ticket item you'll buy after the shower.
- Help and favor coupons — babysitting, home-cooked meals, dog walking, lawn care, housekeeping, a newborn photography session.
- Service requests — a postpartum doula visit, a lactation consult, a meal delivery subscription.
This is the feature most moms underuse. The non-product gifts are often the ones you actually need most in those first few months.
5.15% Completion Discount in the Babylist Shop
Babylist offers a 15% completion discount on eligible items in the Babylist Shop. To use it:
- Your registry must be active for at least 30 days.
- The discount window runs from 60 days before your expected arrival date through 90 days after.
- The discount applies up to $600 off a $4,000 order.
- Some brands are excluded — Cradlewise, Guava Family, Lovevery subscription play kits, Million Dollar Baby (Carter's by daVinci and daVinci), Nuna, and Nurture& are not eligible.
6.Price Tracking Across Retailers
For items sold at multiple retailers, Babylist shows the price at each one side by side — including the sale price, original price, and percent off during big sale events like Black Friday or Amazon Prime Day. Gift-givers can pick the seller they prefer, and you get the best price without doing the work.
7.How to Maximize Every Perk
- Open your registry as soon as you hit 12 weeks. That gives you the longest possible runway to add items, hit Hello Baby Box thresholds, and start receiving stage-personalized picks.
- Open more than one registry. Babylist pairs well with Amazon (for fast Prime shipping), Walmart (for in-store pickup), Target, and Babies-R-Us at Kohl's. More registries means more gifts and more discounts.
- Install the Add to Babylist button. The browser extension is what unlocks the universal registry — without it, you're limited to what's already in Babylist's catalog.
- Use the cash funds and favor coupons. Don't just register for products. A postpartum doula visit or a month of meal delivery is worth more than a fifth swaddle.
- Hit all the Hello Baby Box requirements early. Add 3 items from other stores, complete 40% of your checklist, and ask a close friend or family member to make the $30 Babylist Shop purchase as your first gift.
- Wait 30 days before redeeming the completion discount. It only activates after 30 days of registry activity — plan your big Babylist Shop purchases for inside the 60-days-before / 90-days-after window.
