Do you remember the days of trying to draw pictures of yourself, your family, and your friends and never being able to get anyone’s skin tone quite right? That “flesh” crayon didn’t cut it. And colors like “peach,” “tan,” or “brown” couldn’t get the job done either.
Fortunately, this won’t be the case for today’s kids anymore. Crayola recently announced their new line of Crayola Colors of the World crayons, available for pre-order now. This new line includes 24 skin-tone crayons. You’ll find shades like light rose, medium almond, deep golden, and many more.
Diversity and inclusion are rooted in Crayola’s mission and the company was determined to get this right. To create the Colors of the World crayons, Crayola partnered with Victor Casale, CEO and co-founder of MOB Beauty and former chief chemist of MAC Cosmetics. Casale used his background in creating foundation shades to help develop this new line of crayons.
Also, Walmart.com will be offering a 32-count pack of crayons featuring the 24 skin-tone crayons plus 8 classic shades for eyes and hair. Walmart.com will be offering a 48-page Colors of the World Coloring and Activity Book, too.
Head to Crayola’s website to learn more and to sign up to be notified once the crayons are available.
