As a mom, you know that you could always use an extra hand, especially when it comes to toting baby around town. Between transitioning from the car to the stroller to a carrier, it can be exhausting and time consuming to constantly move baby around. But Maxi-Cosi may have just solved that problem with its new Coral XP, a car seat and carrier nesting system that is the first of its kind.
This integrated car seat and carrier system is designed to help you move around easily — whether you’re picking up dinner, shopping at the farmers market, or walking around the park. The Coral consists of a three-part nesting system: a car seat base, car seat outer carrier, and inner carrier. The system makes transitioning from one location to another seamless with the use of the inner carrier. You don’t have to worry about removing a bulky carrier and carrying it with you.
The inner carrier, weighing about 5 pounds, pops out easily with the push of a button and padded retractable side handles. It has a contoured carry handle and a flex strap that can be used for cross-body carrying. That means that you can have baby close to you while keeping your hands free to do the things you need to do — even if it’s grabbing a much-needed cup of coffee while running your errands. And if baby is sleeping peacefully in his carrier, you won’t have to disturb him to put him back into his car seat.
The Coral XP is designed for babies weighing four to 22 pounds. The nested system is compatible with Maxi-Cosi strollers and an array of premium strollers, making the transition from car to stroller even easier. And of course, if you need to take the whole carrier with you, it easily snaps out of the car seat base.
The Coral car seat launched in Europe in 2019; after its success, it was made to U.S. safety standards and released in the States in September 2020. The nested system is aircraft certified and ready to travel, and meets and exceeds all government safety standards.
The Coral XP comes in three colors — Essential Graphite, Essential Red, and Essential Blue.
