Being a new mom and breastfeeding can be a real challenge. As natural as breastfeeding is, it’s not always as easy as it may seem. Being able to talk to other moms who are breastfeeding and get their support and advice can be life-changing. There are a couple of different breastfeeding support groups in Auburn available for mama’s to join and get the information and support they need. Breastfeeding Support Group Round-Up
EAMC Breastfeeding Support Group
The breastfeeding support group at East Alabama Medical Center provides breastfeeding moms with a safe space to share ideas and find support during their journey. They also provide a scale at each session so you can track your baby’s weight. The group meets every Thursday from 12 – 2 PM on the third floor in the Lactation Resource Center. La Leche League of Auburn/Opelika
La Leche League works worldwide to provide breastfeeding mothers with support and education. The La Leche League of Auburn/Opelika meets on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM at Cornerstone Family Chiropractic. Valley Area Mommies
Valley Area Mommies is a private Facebook group for moms in the Auburn/Opelika area to get breastfeeding support. While the primary focus is on breastfeeding support, the group does accept moms in the area who are looking for support on a variety of other parenting topics as well. The group also hosts bi-weekly meetups the second and last Tuesday of every month at the Valley Library from 6 – 7 PM. To request to join the group you can click here.
