Shop Small at These Independent Birmingham Baby Boutiques

There isn’t much that’s cuter than a brand-new baby, except maybe tiny, adorable baby clothes. Luckily, there are several independently-owned Birmingham baby boutiques where you can find unique baby clothes, shoes, accessories, and more.

Now more than ever, shopping small is vital to sustaining local economies. Here’s a round-up of some of our favorite Birmingham baby boutiques.

Birmingham Baby and Shoe Stores

Sikes Shoes and Jack n’ Jill

Homewood AL, 35209

sikes shoes

We love Sikes Shoes and Jack n’ Jill, both owned by Laura Player and located side by side in their new Homewood location. It’s a rite of passage for many Birmingham babies to be fitted for their first pair of walking shoes at Sikes, and the cute options are endless, from mini sneakers to the timeless Southern favorite, the hard-sole white sandal or high-top. Look for a variety of well-known and loved brands, such as Footmates, Keds, Sperry, StrideRite, and more.

Sikes Shoes is one of the few children’s shoe stores that still have on-site specialists to measure your child’s feet to ensure the best fit. This boutique has been in business since the 1950s and is family-owned and operated.

Jack n’ Jill offers a wide range of fashionable children’s clothing, starting with options for preemies (availability varies) and going up to size 16 for boys and girls. Popular brands include Angel Dear, Florence Eiseman, Tea, Bailey Boys, Funtasia, and Ishtex.
